Plant Conservation Awards Nomination(s)

KNPS is taking nominations and giving out awards for significant conservation actions in Kentucky in 2025. We will accept nominations for two awards. The Plant Conservation Organization Award is for an agency or organization that has contributed significantly to Kentucky plant conservation in 2025 and the Plant Conservation Individual Award is for a person who has contributed significantly to Kentucky conservation in 2025

Award Requirements

Plant Conservation Organization Award

An agency or non-profit that has contributed significantly to Kentucky native plant conservation in one or more of the following ways within the year 2025:

  • Creating or managing successful programs that promote community engagement in native plant conservation
  • Publishing valuable native plant materials such as guides, atlases, books, keys, etc.
  • Scientific discoveries and innovations that further native plant conservation
  • Native plant reintroductions
  • Natural Community Restoration
  • Restoration of a rare plant species
  • Exceptional native plant education event(s)
  • Large scale significant specimen contributions and/or digitization

Plant Conservation Individual Award

A person (connected with an agency/non-profit or not) who has contributed significantly to Kentucky native plant conservation in one or more of the following ways within the year 2025:

  • Creating or managing successful programs that promote community engagement in native plant conservation
  • Publishing valuable native plant materials such as guides, atlases, books, keys, etc.
  • Scientific discoveries and innovations that further native plant conservation
  • Native plant reintroductions
  • Natural Community Restoration
  • Restoration of rare plant species
  • Exceptional native plant education event(s)
  • Large scale significant specimen contributions and/or digitization
