Join us as we are guided through this special preserve by Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission ecologist Martina Hines. Protected here is the Beech Fork Ravine which flows into the Rockcastle River. Rich spring wildflowers and a mature hemlock mixed forest will be explored and unique species will be highlighted.

Driving directions and meeting information will be provided upon registration.

Each year KNPS organizes field trips to explore Kentucky’s natural areas. Trip leaders are knowledgeable about the area being explored and the native plants and plant communities that are found in that area.

For the best experience and to protect sensitive plant habitats, the number of participants in the field trips will usually be limited. Because of this, pre-registration will be required for all trips. Registration forms will be made active 30 days before each trip.
